Hashim Amla becomes the fastest player to score 3000 ODI runs


       South Africa's Hashim Amla became the fastest player to score 3,000  one-day international runs during the course of his 150 which led South Africa to an 80 runs win over England at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. In the process, he also became the quickest player in the history of the game to make 10 ODI centuries. This win made South Africa the No.1 team in all three formats of the game as per the ICC rankings.

        Amla scored 150 runs in 124 balls which included 16 fours. He took only 57 innings to reach 3000 runs breaking the record set by Viv Richards who took 69 innings. Overall Amla has scored 3031 runs in 59 ODI matches at an average of 58.58 which include 10 centuries and 18 half centuries. This  year he has already scored 1125 runs in 22 matches with 4 centuries and is currently the No.1 ODI batsman as per the ICC rankings.
